Sample Policy & Procedure Change

As of mid-April, Jefco implemented a new order management & tracking system. This system has afforded us insight into our day-to-day operations. It has shown us our strengths, weaknesses, areas of concern (potential bottleneck points), time / cost studies as well as traceability. With this information, we can reduce lead times, more accurately project delivery schedules and obtain certain Mfg. certs.

Naturally, we have taken things a step further and conducted a full review of our current business model, operation standards, procedures, and policies. While many changes are in progress behind the scenes, there are a few that our reps and customers need to be aware of.

Procedure and policy changes related to samples, engineering / product drawings and P.O.’s. The new procedures had a soft start in the first week of May but will be fully in place by the end of the month.

The changes are as follows.

Engineering drawings – Drawings drafted by Jefco are subject to a drafting fee. This is on a case-by-case basis. WMF reps please communicate with Matt to determine the fee schedule. In some cases, a credit may be applied toward a P.O. for the relevant part if placed within 15 days of quote.

Samples / Prototypes – All samples will be treated as an order with standard pricing & lead times. They will require a customer P.O. and an approved drawing. In some cases, a credit may be applied toward a second P.O. for relevant part if placed within 30 days of delivery confirmation of sample / prototype.
